K&S Software formed in July of 1990. The two founding members,
Michael Switzer, formally of All Scanned Productions, and Fred
Kraus Ronson, creator of WES graphics, got together one day to
exchange graphic ideas when the subject of forming a NEW graphics
company came up. They exchanged their thoughts, and went though
about 4 packs of cigarettes, when K&S came up out of thin air.
K&S stands for "Kraus & Switzer" (get it?).
Michael Switzer had been Vice-President for Miami's first graphics
developers, All Scanned Productions. He created about 95% of all
their graphics released. After about 6 years with ASP, things
begain to go wrong. Sour exchanges of VERBS AND NOUNS begain to
fly about the ASP Studio. So with his backpack on his back, Michael
decided to go with his own label, SwitzerScan.
This is about the time that he begain to discuss with Fred Ronson
the possibilities of forming a new graphics company based on what
people really want. Following a friendship that has lasted for 8
years, Fred and Michael begain K&S as a hobby. This is where they
decided to tap the Amateur Market. Since no one in the Southern
US was handling amateur products, they decided to focus on that.
Almost two years later, K&S has grown to become the Southern leader
of amateur graphics. To stand out, K&S is the ONLY amateur company
to offer FREE scanning to all. Oh well, that's the short version of
K&S..want to hear the LONG version? I thought not!
